Summer 2022

Northland Campus, near Green Bay, Wisconsin, is located in the northern Midwest of the United States of America: amidst the rolling hills and dense forests surrounding the Great Lakes. Here there are 4 full seasons – each offering their own unique culture, traditions, and activities. The stunning grounds of the Northland Campus boast private lakes, sprawling lawns, wooded trails, bright stars, fresh air, and breath-taking sunsets. The Northland Campus also offers modern facilities and recently refurbished and updated accommodations. This unique, tranquil site – rich with natural beauty and comfortably equipped with state of the art buildings – is the setting of the Northland Scholars Academy ESL Adventure Programs.

The NSA ESL Adventure Program

Each 10-day session of the ESL Adventure program begins with a 2-day tour of Chicago, Illinois, and an exciting introduction to famous Lambeau Field in Green Bay, before arriving at Northland where the heart of the program takes place.

Program Summary

Program Cost: $1,500 USD

Program Tuition Includes:

  • 16.5 hours of language instruction
  • Educational tours of Chicago (including 2 nights in a hotel)
  • Workshops
  • Camp programming activities
  • Room, board, and amenities
  • 3 meals a day
  • Transportation to and from airport
  • Travel Insurance

Overview of each 10-Day Session

Days 1 to 3:  Arrival and Tour of Chicago and Lambeau Field
Days 4 to 9:  Class and Activities on or near Northland Campus
Days 10:  Departure

ESL Summer Classes

English language summer classes are taught by qualified ESL instructors and Native English speakers. Classes consist of:

  • 16.5 hours of instruction
  • Curriculum that includes writing, speaking, reading, and listening exercises
  • Each lesson is structured around fun, innovative, and challenging assignments that will prepare students for English conversations, American university, and adaptation to American life.
  • Classes are divided and carefully customized around skill level – beginner, intermediate, and advanced

10-day sessions for students ages 13 and older:

Summer Session 1:  June 30 – July 10 , 2022

Summer Session 2:  July 14 – 24 , 2022

Additionally, students practice their English language proficiency through scheduled activities:

  • Tours of Chicago’s museums, stores, parks, and amusements
  • Immersion in American camping programs and activities with English speaking peers
  • Workshops, movies, guest speakers, and more

Workshops, Sessions, and Activities

Our programs provide many opportunities for students to practice their English outside of the classroom and to engage with native English speaking peers in practical and fun activities. There’s no better way to learn than to immerse oneself in American culture!

Sightseeing

Northland Scholar Academy program participants will have the opportunity to learn in one of America’s largest and most famous cities. A wide range of recreational and educational activities may include:

  • Shopping on Michigan Avenue – the famous Magnificent Mile
  • Visits to The Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, or the Shedd Aquarium
  • Tours of Chicago’s Architecture and History along the Lake Michigan shoreline
  • Witnessing the view from one of Chicago’s tallest buildings
  • Sampling the local food and culture

Group outings for hiking and waterfall exploration near Northland Campus also included!
